SCORES BIG IN POWER POINTS

AMID BIZARRE WEEK 7 IN NFL

Even the Halloween colors fit the moment.

The black-and-orange Cleveland Browns and the black-and-orange Cincinnati Bengals kicked off a series of pre-Halloween spookiness in Week 7 of the NFL.

In the “battle for Ohio”, which used to be as exciting as laundry, the two most-recent Heisman Trophy winners put on a show for the ages that featured two last-minute touchdowns.

After watching Cincinnati phenom Joe Burrow, who threw for 406 yards, complete a touchdown pass with less than 60 seconds left, Cleveland’s Baker Mayfield returned the favor with 15 seconds to cap a 37-34 victory.

Elsewhere, Atlanta running back, seconds after being told not to score, which would give Detroit an opportunity to win with a touchdown, let his momentum take him into the endzone. The Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford drove Detroit down the field in less than a minute to score the winning field goal.

For a capper, Kansas City went 0-8 on third-down attempts but still beat Denver by 27 points.

On the unfrightening side of things, Dan Imming, a former all-state high school basketball player and member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, tallied 133 of the possible 136 points to claim Grand Prize honors in Week7 of the POWER POINTS Football Contest. Another contestant, Vincent Carsillo, of Dushore, PA, bested Imming’s score, but the post office failed to deliver his enty in time for scoring.
